There has been major changes in the Foundation since it first began around 1999- 2000.
In the first years there was an enthusiastic but terribly ambitious idea to create a place where the history of the slave trade from the perspective of the African and would be relived physically in an interactive experience which was named the “Memory Village”.
The Foundation purchased some land for this village (2003-2009), went on a tour 3 years in a row with a drama/mime created to promote the idea and then a mock-up village was built in 2009 but due to the difficulty involving issues of land conflict in the area where it was envisioned to be built, the Foundation has decided to convert this idea and continue the same idea to let Ayiti give of herself through the experiences that visiting groups have so that new truths and perspectives can be gained towards transforming ourselves, our communities and thus the greater world.
