Object: School Assistance
For: Frantzy Dèsir
To: N a Sonje Foundation
To all those that are in the N a Sonje Foundation and all those who support the Foundation, in one way or the other, a huge greeting to you all.
I bow low to greet you for all the great work that the Foundation is doing so many places in the country, especially in Gwo Jan. Helping children and young people to go to school, bring tourists up to Gwo Jan, and build houses for people are all the types of work that the foundation has been doing.
I am one of the young people who is benefitting from this support from the Foundation so that I could pay for my schooling. I will never stop thanking the Foundation and all those that support the Foundation for this.
The object of this letter today is so that I can ask the Foundation to make this educational support a permanent condition. I would like to be on the definitive list of those who receive this educational support. The reason why I am asking the Foundation for this support is because I am living in a situation that is very difficult where even my schooling I can’t afford to pay. My family has 10 people, my father and mother, 6 girls, 2 boys, and I am the second child and all of us have financial difficulty to pay for school because my father is almost totally paralyzed when a thief shot him 3 times. What is worse, my mother doesn’t have work which is why our lives, day after day is becoming more difficult.
In the same way so many young people who believe in their future and go out to look for work in order to pay for their shcooling and to help my family, but I haven’t yet found any work. But while I haven’t found any work yet it is the cause for not being able to pay for my schooling and why I am asking the Foundation to grant me this educational support or perhaps to even help me find work to pay for my university degree.
There is an American writer who said, “Education is not only the only way or means that we can use to suceed in our life, it is our life itself.” This is why if it means that I have to carry sacks in order to make money to pay for my schooling, I‘ll do it because my studies are one of the most important thing in my life. It is my very soul, truly the other part of my life.
I am studying political science and public governance. I am in my second year. The school (university level) is called “CEDI” or Center for Diplomatic and International Studies. It located on the Bourdon avenue next to the famous Christopher Hotel. It costs $850 US every semester. Each semester is 5 months long, 2 semesters each year.
I have just started a new semester, but I don’t whether I should go up or go down because I don’t yet see the money I’ll need to pay school with. I am one of the students who always gets the best marks but that doesn’t prevent the stress I feel every time the exams come the financial situation. This why I am asking the Foundation for this help.
Everyone who supports the N a Sonje Foundation, I would like you to know that the work that the Foundaton is doing is not small especially in a country like Haiti where there are more people who don’t know how to read than that do. I have had great luck to find the support of the Foundation because there are those who haven’t. Please don’t stop supporting the Foundation because of this special work.
Thank you so much N a Sonje Foudation!
Frantzy Désir
